FAQ

Questions? We’ve got answers.

Here are the things people ask us most. Don’t see your question? Just reach out. There’s no such thing as a silly question here.

Getting started

What does Diversity Included do?

We help people and organizations understand and support different ways of thinking, learning and working. That includes adult ADHD and mental health assessments, help with Disability Tax Credit paperwork, 1:1 coaching from high school age and up, and workshops and consulting for schools, service providers and workplaces.

Who runs Diversity Included?

Diversity Included was founded by Kamla A. Williams, MA, RSW, a Registered Social Worker with more than 11,000 clinical hours. You can read more on our About page.

How do I get started?

Book a free consultation through our contact page. We’ll listen, answer your questions and talk through your options, with no pressure. If you’re not sure where to begin, our free self-check can help you put your thoughts in order first.

Does the self-check tell me if I have ADHD or autism?

No. The self-check is a starting point for reflection, not an assessment. It can show you which areas might be worth talking about with a professional. Only a full assessment can give you a clear answer. Your answers stay on your device and are never sent to us.

Assessments & the Disability Tax Credit

Who are your assessments for?

Our assessments are for adults. For teens, we offer coaching and support (see Teens & Families). If you’re looking for an assessment for someone under 18, your family doctor or school is a good place to start, and we’re happy to talk through options during a free consultation.

What does an assessment look at?

It’s a thorough, respectful look at your attention, focus, mood and daily functioning, and how they affect your life at work, school and home. Every assessment starts with a free consultation. Learn more on our Assessments page.

Can you help me apply for the Disability Tax Credit (DTC)?

Yes. We support clients with Disability Tax Credit documentation. Keep in mind that the Canada Revenue Agency makes the final decision on who qualifies. You can read the official details on the CRA’s Disability Tax Credit page.

Do you prescribe medication?

No. We don’t prescribe medication. If medication might be part of your plan, we encourage you to talk with your family doctor, nurse practitioner or psychiatrist.

Will my insurance cover it?

Many workplace and private health plans include coverage for services from a Registered Social Worker, but every plan is different. Check with your plan provider, and ask us what paperwork you’ll need.

Coaching, schools & workplaces

Who is coaching for?

Neurodivergent people from high school age and up: high school and post-secondary students, professionals and leaders. Together we build strategies that fit how your brain actually works.

Can you train our staff or team?

Yes. We offer workshops, webinars and consulting for schools, service providers and workplaces, tailored to your team. See For Schools & Workplaces.

Do you help people publish books?

We do. We support neurodivergent writers from first idea to a published book. Visit Be Published.
